The petitioner's nomination paper came to be rejected for want of submission of original caste certificate. Learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the original caste certificate was with him. He submitted photostate copy and was willing to submit original as and when required by the officer concerned.

Learned Counsel for the State Election Commission - Mr.Shetye submitted that it was mandatory for the petitioner to submit original caste certificate at the time of scrutiny. 4.

We have perused the record. Considered the submissions advanced by the learned Counsel appearing for the parties. In the facts, no interference is warranted in the matter. The election process is set in motion. However, petitioner may resort to appropriate statutory remedy after election results are declared.

The Writ Petition is accordingly rejected.
