The petitioner's nomination paper came to be rejected by an order dated 04/02/2017. According to the Returning Officer, the petitioner's signature on affidavit was missing. Learned Counsel appearing for the State Election Commission - Mr.Shetye submitted that for want of submission of the document along with signature of the petitioner, the 1/2

We have perused the record and considered the submissions advanced by the learned Counsel appearing for the parties. The election process is set in motion. Today is the date fixed for withdrawal of the candidature. In the facts, at this stage, we are not inclined to interfere in the matter and exercise our writ jurisdiction. However, petitioner is at liberty to resort to appropriate statutory remedy after election results are declared.

Writ Petition is accordingly rejected.
