The petitioner herein has been convicted for the offence punishable under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act. The petitioner had challenged the said order before the Sessions Court in Criminal Appeal No. 1025 of 2014. The petitioner had also filed application for suspension of execution of sentence. By the impugned order dated 15th November, 2014 the learned Addl. Sessions Judge has suspended the substantive sentence till decision of the appeal on payment of Rs.7 lakhs which is equivalent to 20% of pps

15 wp 645-15.doc the total compensation amount. The said amount was directed to be deposited on or before 20.12.2014 before the trial court. 2.

Learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner has submitted that he has already deposited the compensation of Rs.3 lakhs before the trial court and he undertakes to deposit the balance amount of Rs.4 lakhs within four days.
