Heard the learned Counsel for the parties.

Learned Counsel for the Applicant, on instructions, seeks leave to withdraw the application. He however, submits that having regard to the punishment the offences entail and the period which the applicant has already undergone as an under-trial prisoner, the trial may be expedited. 3.

The submission in the context of the facts of the case, seems justifiable. 4.

The Special Court seized with Special Case No.613 of 2022 is requested to make an endeavour to commence and conclude the trial in the said case as expeditiously as possible and preferably within a period of six months from the date of communication of this order.

In the event, the trial is not concluded within the aforesaid period, the SSP 1/2

17 ba 514 of 2023.doc applicant shall be at liberty to revive the prayer for bail. 6.

With the aforesaid liberty, the application stands dismissed as withdrawn.
