The grievance of the petitioner is that the disqualification petition, which the Collector ought to have disposed of within three months, has been pending since the month of December, 2014. Now the election of President of Council is notified to be held on 8th of May, 2015. In view of this, the counsel submits that there is an urgency in the mater and the Collector be 1/2
904)WP1853.15 directed to decide the disqualification petition prior to 8th of May, 2015.
This petition was filed in the month of February, 2015. According to the petitioner the disqualification petition was filed in the month of December 2014 with the Collector. The learned AGP on instructions, submits that the said disqualification petition is listed for hearing on 12th of May, 2015.
In view of above, we direct the Collector to dispose of the petition filed by petitioner on its own merits and in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible.
With this order and direction, the petition is disposed of with no order as to costs.
