This is an application for renewal of Passport for a period of 10 years.

The applicant/petitioner has challenged the proceedings in R.C.C. No. 183 of 1999 pending before the J.M.F.C., 9th Court, Pune before this Court by preferring Criminal Writ Petition No.308 of 2019. The said petition has been admitted by this Court vide order dated 6.9.2023 and the interim relief in terms of prayer clause (b) of the said petition has been granted. 3.

It is submitted that the passport of the applicant may be renewed for a period of 10 years and the applicant be Dinesh S. Sherla 1/2

41-ia-966-24 in wp-308-19.doc permitted to travel abroad. Since the petition challenging the impugned proceedings is pending before this Court, the applicant has approached this Court in view of the rules under the Passport Act.

Considering the aforesaid circumstances, we direct the Regional Passport Ofce, Pune to renew the passport of the applicant/petitioner for a period of 10 years in accordance with Rules. After the Passport is renewed, the applicant/petitioner is at liberty to move an application to travel abroad. 5.

The Interim Application is disposed of.
