The elections in this case are scheduled on 21/02/2016. Once the elections are concluded, the petitioner has an alternate and efficacious remedy available to him to challenge the selection. In these circumstances, notwithstanding the able and vehement submissions of the learned Counsel for petitioner, it will not be appropriate to exercise extraordinary jurisdiction under Articles 226 and 227 of the Constitution of India.

Therefore, this petition is dismissed. However, it is made clear that this Court has not examined the matter on merits and the petitioner will have liberty to avail the alternate remedy available to him under the law.
