Prayer clause (a) of the petition reads thus : "(a) That by an approraite writ/order or direction, of this Hon'ble Court, the Respondent be diercted to forthwith to recount the votes of ward no. 36(B) of the elections dated 16/02/2012 of the Thane Municipal Corporation."

In substance, the petitioner wants to challenge the general ward election in relation to ward no. 36(B) of the Thane Municipal Corporation. The statutory remedies are available to the petitioner. Hence, this writ petition cannot be entertained.

Subject to what is observed above, petition is rejected.
