The learned counsel for the applicant submits that since the applicant is in custody since 12.09.2017, the trial may be expedited.

Having regard to the period for which the applicant is in custody, it may be expedient in the interest of justice to expedite the trial.

The learned Sessions Judge is therefore requested to conclude the trial in Sessions Case No.2 of 2018 as expeditiously as possible and preferably on or before 31.05.2023. 6.
