Rule. Rule made returnable forthwith. Heard finally by consent of learned counsel for the applicant-original accused and learned APP for the respondent-State.

The applicant-accused has already been granted Special Parole for four days as per the Notification dated 10 th February 2022. This Notification allows extension of Special Parole for four days. The applicant has not so far applied for extension of Special Parole to maximum period of eight days as per the Notification dated 10 th February 2022. We find that with the grant of four days Special Parole to the applicant-accused, the purpose of this application has been 1/2 27-APL-265-2023.doc Dixit

substantially served, but the applicant is desirous of availing extension of Special Parole period by another four days. The applicant is at liberty to do so in terms of the Notification dated 10 th February 2022.

If the applicant-accused applies for extension of Special Parole as per the Notification dated 10 th February 2022, such application may be decided in accordance with law at the earliest and in any case within a week's time from the date of the application.

Criminal Application stands dismissed subject to the above referred observations. Rule is discharged.
