The cause for moving the above Petition is the fact that the Revision Application filed by the Petitioner is not been taken up for consideration by the Revisionary Authority i.e. the Hon'ble Minister of State, for State Excise, Government of Maharashtra. The Learned AGP on instructions of the Assistant Desk Officer states that the Revision Application would be decided by the Revisionary Authority within 4 months from date. In my view, considering the narrow compass in which the dispute in the Revision lies, the said period sought by the Learned AGP is too long. The Revisionary Authority is therefore directed to hear and decide the Revision Application latest by 31-5-2017.
