The petitioner who was appointed as a Trainee Trackman came to be removed from services in pursuance of departmental inquiry by order dated 20th June, 2017. Being aggrieved by the said order of termination, the petitioner has preferred an appeal before respondent No.2 and the said appeal is pending.

The limited relief sought by the petitioner in the present petition is issuance of writ in the nature of mandamus to respondent No.2 to decide the said appeal filed by him on 28th June, 2017, after affording him necessary opportunity of hearing.

Since limited relief is sought by the petitioner, we are inclined to allow the writ petition in terms of prayer clause (b). We direct respondent No.2 to decide the appeal filed by the petitioner within a period of three months from today. Needless to say that respondent No.2 shall afford an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner. 4.

With the aforesaid directions, the writ petition stands disposed off.
