2) The learned Special Public Prosecutor submitted that the trial has commenced and the first witness is in the witness box. 3) In view of the aforesaid statement, the learned Counsel for the applicant, seeks leave to withdraw the application. 1/2

12-BA-604-23.DOC 4) The learned Counsel for the applicant, however, submits that the applicant has been in custody since 20th December, 2020, and, therefore, the trial be expedited. 5) Having regard to the facts that the applicant is a lady and she has been in custody since 20th December, 2020, and the trial has already commenced, it may be expedient to expedite the trial.

6) The learned Special Judge seized with the NDPS Special of Case No. 653 of 2021 is requested to make an endeavour to commence and conclude the trial as expeditiously as possible and preferably within a period of one year from the date of the communication of this order.

7) In the event the trial is not concluded within the said period, the applicant shall have liberty to revive the prayer for bail.
