On one occasion when this PIL was placed before us, the instruction from the petitioner to the Advocate was that leave be sought to withdraw the same.

Mr. Prashant Eknath Bhise, the petitioner who brought this petition is no longer interested in the cause but we cannot allow the cause to suffer and the PIL to be withdrawn or disposed of as such withdrawal simpliciter would be detrimental to the interest of the general public. We adjourned this matter on two occasions only in the hope that some public spirited citizen would come and intervene and take over the same.
