Heard the learned counsel for the parties.

The limited prayer in this application is to grant extension of time to furnish surety.

Initially the applicant was ordered to be released on bail by the learned Additional Sessions Judge by order dated 25th March, 2021. By a subsequent order dated 2nd September, 2021 the condition to furnish local solvent surety was modified to solvent surety thereby implying that the surety not be a local resident. 4.

It seems, the applicant could not furnish surety within the extended period of time. Thus by order dated 17th December, 2021 the application preferred by the applicant for extension of time for furnishing surety (Exhibit 100) came to be rejected. 5.

The applicant has already been released on bail. On account of Vishal Parekar, P.A.

41-apl-229-2022.doc exigency of situation which arose due to Covid 19 pandemic, the applicant, it seems, could not furnish surety within time. 6.

In the circumstances of the case, it would be expedient to extend the time to furnish surety by a period of four weeks from today.
