On 3 July 2017, following order was passed1.

The record indicates that by the order dated 9th March, 2001, the rule was discharged and the petition was dismissed for non prosecution as also the interim relief, which came to be granted in terms of prayer clause (c) was also vacated. By further order dated 23rd March, 2007, the writ petition was restored. However, the interim relief was not continued. Today, when the petition is called out, none appears for the Petitioner.

In the light of the above development, it appears that the petitioner have lost interest to pursue this petition. Let the petition be listed under the caption for "disposal"/"dismissal" on 4th July, 2017.'
