By this petition, the petitioner seeks direction to the scrutiny committee to decide the caste claim of the petitioner as early as possible. The petitioner also seeks the protection of his education till his caste claim is decided.

Mr Mali, the learned AGP appearing on behalf of the scrutiny committee states that the caste claim of the petitioner is pending before the scrutiny committee and the same would be decided within a period of six months.

In view of the aforesaid statement, we dispose of the Writ petition with a direction to the scrutiny committee to decide the

908 WP2579-15.doc caste claim of the petitioner as early as possible and positively within a period of six months from the date of appearance of the petitioner before the scrutiny committee. The petitioner is directed to appear before the scrutiny committee on the 6th April 2015. The education of the petitioner is protected till his caste claim is decided. The petitioner should be therefore permitted to appear at the examination and prosecute the Mechanical Engineering Course till his caste claim is decided.

Order accordingly. No costs.
