On the last date, submission was made by the learned advocate for the respondent that the petitioners are promoted and the purpose of the petition is served. Learned advocate for the petitioners sought time to take instructions.

Today, learned advocate for the petitioners, on instructions, submits that the petitioners have been issued with promotion orders and the purpose of the petitioners is served. Learned counsel further submits that the said orders of promotion are subject to the decision of the Apex Court in a matter pending before the Apex Court with regard to the reservation policy.

Naturally if the Supreme Court passes an order, the same would be binding on all the parties.
