This is an application for directions to the respondent no.2 to allow the applicant to renew the passport. 3.

Mr. D. P. Singh, learned counsel appearing for the respondent no.2 submitted that if the applicant is otherwise eligible, as per the norms, the respondent no.2 will renew the same for the period of one year.

For the reasons mentioned in the application and considering that the respondent no.2 is willing to process the application for renewal/reissue, in my opinion, for the present if the applicant is otherwise eligible, the passport could be renewed/reissued for the period of five years.
