Heard learned counsel for the Petitioner and learned A.G.P. for the Respondent-State.

The grievance of the Petitioner is that the Petitioner's caste validity claim, which is pending before Respondent No.1Committee since 24th July 2013, has not been considered and decided by the Committee as yet. Learned counsel for the Petitioner submits that the Petitioner's employer is insisting upon the Petitioner to submit Caste Validity Certificate, failing which appropriate steps will be taken by him against the Petitioner. 1/2 Dixit WP-3153-16

On 22nd March 2016, this Court, while issuing notice to the Respondents, had granted interim relief in favour of the Petitioner, observing that no coercive steps, based upon the show cause notice issued to the Petitioner by his employer, be taken till the next date. The said interim order is still continuing. 5.

Keeping in view that the short question is involved in the matter, we are inclined to dispose of this Petition by directing Respondent No.1-Committee to consider and take appropriate decision on the Petitioner's caste validity claim as expeditiously as possible, but in any case not later than four months from the date of appearance of the Petitioner before it.

Petitioner to appear before Respondent No.1-Committee on 23rd August 2017 at 11:00 A.M.

Till the Petitioner's caste scrutiny claim is decided by Respondent No.1-Committee, the interim protection granted by this Court shall continue to operate.
