Heard the learned counsel appearing for the Petitioner. He submits that presently elections to the Respondent No. 5 Market Committee have been held on 18th March, 2019 and consequently, the relief regarding the said election no more survives due to efflux of time. He further submits that though rest issues seeking challenge to the constitutional validity of the Ordinance dated 31st October, 2017 amending the Maharashtra State Agriculture Produce Market Committee Act, he does not press the same. 1 / 2

12 - WP. 2910-19 However, he seeks liberty to press this issue as and when circumstances arises.

The learned counsel further submits that petition of the Petitioner relating to the claim for cast verification is pending for consideration before the Respondent No. 6. He seeks direction for disposal of representation of the Petitioner at an earlier date by the said authority. After hearing the learned counsel appearing for the parties, we dispose of the writ petition by directing Respondent No. 6 to decide the caste validity claim of the Petitioner expeditiously, preferably within a period of 8 weeks from today. With this observation, and the liberty as prayed above, writ petition is disposed above.
