Heard learned counsel (appointed) and learned APP. for respondent State. Petitioner a life convict in Jail since 9.5.2006 seeks benefit of State policy of remission on the occasion of 125th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. Learned APP submits that proposal has been forwarded to punishing court for its comments and the reminder has also been sent on 8.2.2019.

In this situation instead of keeping the matter pending we direct punishing court namely court of Additional Sessions Judge, Kalyan who has convicted petitioner on 9.5.2006 in Sessions Case No.225/2004 to expedite the action on proposal and to submit appropriate recommendation within four weeks after receipt of this order. 3.

If the proposal is not received by it, it shall also inform the office of Superintendent Nasik Road Prison accordingly. 4.

With this direction, we partly allow the petition and accordingly disposed of. No costs.
