These petitioner seeks reward from the Income-Tax department in terms of CBDT guidelines as set out in File No.292/2/1998/IT dated 29th November, 2007.

It is the petitioner's case that consequent to information given by him the Income-Tax department was able to recover large amount of tax from delinquent assessees. The information relates to assessment of various parties for assessment years 1989-90 till 2007-08. The petitioners grievance is that the rewards are not being given.

Mr. Suresh Kumar, learned counsel appearing for the revenue states that in aggregate there are in all 19 cases in which 1/2

w6632.16 information has been provided by the petitioner. Mr.Suresh Kumar further states that Mr. Shekhar L. Gajbhiye, Additional Director of the Income Tax (Investigation) has by communication dated 19th July, 2016 has instructed him to make a statement that the claim for reward made by the petitioner would be disposed of within six months from today. Mr. Suresh Kumar also invited our attention to the order passed in similar petition filed by other persons claiming reward being Writ Petition Nos.10453 of 2015, 11008 of 2015 and 11448 of 2015 where similar prayer at the request of revenue, was granted to dispose of the claim for reward. In view of the above, the revenue would dispose of the reward applications within a period of six months. 4.

In view of the statement made by Mr.Suresh Kumar, on instructions, nothing survives in this petition. The petition is disposed of in above terms.
