1) The petitioners claimed that they are cultivating salt pan lands since more than 100 years. At present paddy crop is being cultivated. They have prayed for recording their names in the revenue record. Such representations are pending with the District Collector. Petitioners prayed for issuance of directions to the respondents to decide their representations. 2) The learned A.G.P. submits on instructions of the Collector, Raigad that in the facts of the case, it would take near about six months time to deal with the matter of the respective applicants-petitioners on its own merit.
2 /2 9-wp-3777-14.doc 3) The Collector would deal with the issue raised by the petitioners in accordance with the facts and the record maintained. We direct the Collector to decide the representations of the petitioners in accordance with the statement made as above. 4) All issues on merits are kept open. It is clarified that we have not expressed any opinion on the merits. The Collector is at liberty to hear to the parties.
