This petition, under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeks a direction to Respondent No.2 - the Regional Special Director to grant to the Petitioner the reward available to him as an informer to the Directorate of Enforcement. This as the information provided by him had led to recovery of foreign currency and gold to the benefit of the State. 2.

In fact, it is his case that interim reward was granted to him in 1995 and there is no reason not to give him the final reward in terms of the policy formulated by the Union of India.

We note that, on 26 February 2016, the Petitioner made a representation to the Regional Special Director - Respondent No.2,

sg 2/2 wp5821-16.doc seeking immediate payment of final reward in view of information provided by the Petitioner.

Mr. Sharma, learned Counsel appearing for the Respondents, states that the representation dated 26 February 2019 will be disposed of by Respondent No.2 within a period of twelve weeks from today. The statement is accepted.

In the above view, Mr. Pathak, learned Counsel appearing for the Petitioner, withdraws this petition. All contentions of the parties are kept open.
