Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned APP for the State.

The petitioner was convicted and sentenced for an offence punishable under section 12 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for 18 months and to pay fine of Rs.50,000/-. Counsel further submits that an appeal filed against the said judgment and order for conviction and sentence is admitted by the High Court. It is submitted that the petitioner has 1/2

907) WP1166-14 applied for renewal of his arm licence. In this petition, since the petitioner seeks direction to the respondents for renewal of his licence.

Learned APP submits that the petitioner is a convicted person and even otherwise, the petitioner has failed to apply for fresh renewal. In the facts of the circumstances, we are not inclined to exercise our extra-ordinary jurisdiction. The petitioner may approach appropriate higher authorities. We do not express any opinion. The petition is accordingly dismissed.
