This is an application for extension of time to furnish sureties.

Heard Smt. Geeta Singh, learned counsel for the applicant and Ms. Pallavi Dabholkar, learned APP for the State. 3.

The applicant was granted bail by this court vide order dated 07/01/2021 passed in Criminal Bail Application No.220 of 2020. The applicant was directed to be released on bail in connection with C.R.No. 572 of 2018 registered at Sakinaka police station, on his furnishing P. R. bond of Rs.25,000/- with one or two Gokhale

38-ia-1036-21.odt sureties in the like amount. At that time, the applicant was permitted to furnish cash bail for a period of two months from that date. Within that period he was directed to furnish sureties. 4.

Present application is filed by the applicant mentioning that in spite of his best efforts he was unable to furnish sureties, as his friends were not available at the present time and they were at their native place. Learned counsel for the applicant submitted that his friends are ready to come to Mumbai to furnish surety, but they need some time. Considering this background and after perusing the order granting him bail, I am inclined to allow this application. Though, the applicant has prayed for six week' s extension, I am granting him four weeks time to furnish sureties, as directed. 5.

Hence, the following order :

ORDER

(i) Time to furnish the sureties, as permitted vide order dated 07/01/2021 in Criminal Bail Application No.220 of 2020 is extended by a period of four weeks from today.

(ii) Application stands disposed of accordingly. (SARANG V. KOTWAL, J.)
