None for the applicant. The learned APP for the respondent.

This is an application for early hearing of the Criminal Appeal bearing no.594 of 2009 challenging the conviction and resultant sentence imposed on the appellant/accused passed by the learned trial court for offences punishable under Sections 7, avk 1/2

5-APPA-453-2018.doc 13(1)(d) read with 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act. The appeal is of the year 2009. Similar such appeals even of the year 2000 are pending for adjudication. The appellant/accused is already on bail. That apart, appeals in which the appellants are undergoing jail sentence for more than five years are still pending for final hearing. In this view of the matter, early hearing of the appeal cannot be granted. The application is, therefore, rejected. (A. M. BADAR, J.) avk 2/2
