We are informed by the learned APP Mr.Pethe that since the Petitioner is a Police Officer, sanction u/s 197-B of the Cr.P.C. is sought for from the Director General of Police, Maharashtra and that the same is awaited.

It would be contingent upon the decision that would be rendered on the said application for sanction, that the final report would be filed by the investigating agency. Nesarikar

It is therefore not necessary to keep the above Writ Petition pending. The Petitioner can seek appropriate recourse contingent upon the decision of the Director General of Police, Maharashtra.
