The non-concern of the Writ Petitioners as also the fact that the Public Interest Litigation does not really espouse any public cause is evident from the fact that the Public Interest Litigation was filed in the year 2009 and the Petitioners were hardly concerned with the fact that it was never listed before the Court even for a preliminary hearing till after 10 years the file was discovered lying abandoned in the registry and therefore placed before the Bench today.

The prayer made in the Public Interest Litigation is to direct the Respondents to use broad gauge with wide coaches for the proposed Pune Metro Rail project and that in future the train should have 12 coaches.

This is a matter of policy.

The Public Interest Litigation is dismissed.
