1) This is an application sent through jail. Heard learned counsel appointed for the applicant and the learned APP. The learned counsel for the applicant submitted that the applicant has been arrested on 25.3.2015 in the present crime and since then he is in jail. He submitted that the applicant may either be released on bail or in the alternate his trial arising out of CR No. 169/2010 and culminated in Sessions Case No. 173/2012 may be expedited. The learned APP submitted that the trial has already been begun and as of today two witnesses have been examined. She, on instructions, further submitted that the applicant is involved in eight other serious offences including one offence wherein the provisions of the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act, 1999 (the MCOC Act) have been applied.

2) In view of the above, the learned trial Court seized of the trial arising out of CR No. 169/2010 which is culminated in Sessions Case No. 173/2012 at Kalyan is hereby directed to make an endeavour to expedite the trial and conclude the same as far as possible by 31.12.2016.
