By this petition, the petitioner seeks a direction to the respondent No.1, to issue a Character Certificate and/or a direction to the respondent No.2 to dispense with the requirement of Character Certificate for registration of the petitioner as a Valuer under Section 1/3

34AB of the Wealth Tax Act.

Learned APP submits that the petitioner has in the Application cum Personal Particulars Form for Character and Antecedents Verification, in one of the columns, stated as 'No' to the question i.e. 'Is there any Criminal Offence registered against you', despite there being a criminal case registered as against him. 3.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that it is an inadvertent mistake. He states that the petitioner will file a fresh application and will give all the particulars as mandated, in the application.

If such an application is filed, the authority to decide the said application expeditiously, in accordance with law, having regard to the age of the petitioner, 2/3

Petition is accordingly disposed of on the aforesaid terms. 6.
