In the present letter petition, the petitioner prayed for reduction of his sentence. Learned appointed counsel for the petitioner submitted that though the prayer made in the letter petition may not be entertainable, the grievance of the petitioner may be considered for pre-mature release, as the petitioner had suffered the sentence for a considerable long period. It seems that the copy of letter petition was subjected to the prison authorities and accordingly, the prison authority forwarded communication to the office of the Public Prosecutor. The copy of the same is placed on record.

Perusal of the communication shows that the petitioner (Convict No.B/46224) suffered his imprisonment in Nashik Road Central Prison, Nashik and has completed his term of sentence and was released from the prison on 28th October, 2020. As the petitioner is now released from the prison, the grievance raised in the petition no more survives. Petition is accordingly disposed of.

Learned counsel appointed to appear on behalf of the petitioner be paid fees as per rules.
