This is an Application for bail. The Applicant is facing prosecution for the offence punishable under Section 302 read with Section 34 of the Indian Penal Code.

Although the learned counsel for the Applicant has made an attempt to make out a case for bail on merits, it is alternatively submitted that the trial may be expedited, in as much as, the trial has already commenced.

Mr. Venegaonkar, learned Special prosecutor for Respondent No.2 /State submitted that in the chargesheet 31 prosecution witnesses are cited and in all probability the prosecution would examine about 15 witnesses out of which 4 witnesses have already been examined.

Considering the overall circumstances, I do not find that a case for grant of bail is made out.

Learned Sessions Judge shall proceed to hold the trial as expeditiously as possible and an endevour shall be made to conclude the same within a period of six months from the receipt hereof.
