Learned counsel for the applicant submits that the applicant is in custody for six years and six months. The prosecution has examined 14 witnesses. There is no further progress in the trial. The applicant cannot be detained in custody for indefnite period and hence he may be granted bail. Learned APP submits that the prosecution intend to examine at the most four more witnesses and the trial will be concluded soon. There are 7 other cases registered against the applicant.

At the most, this Court may direct the trial Court to concluded the trial within a period of two months. Learned APP submits that considering the pandemic situation, it would not be possible for the trial Court to conclude the trial within a short span of time and at the most this Court may direct that the trial may conclude within a period of six months.

Considering the submission of both the sides, trial Court is directed to conclude the trial within a period of six months from the date of receipt of this order. In view of this, learned counsel for the applicant did not press application on merits.

The copy of this order be forwarded to the trial Court. Application is disposed of accordingly.
