The present PIL has been filed for various grievances including the one with regard to the direction making assessment report for finding out the remedies for reducing the pendency in the Courts. The Petitioner has also raised the grievances with regard to the salary of the Judicial Officers and non Judicial Officers.

The Hon'ble Apex Court, insofar as the salary of the Judicial Officers is concerned, has already considered the issue and issued various directions. Not only that subsequent to the directions issued by the Hon'ble Apex Court, initially Shetty 1/2

5. PIL 136.18.doc Commission and subsequently Padmanabhan Commission were established. On the report of the Shetty Commission there has been substantial rise in not only the salary but also perks and other facilities as are available to the subordinate Judicial Officers.

On the basis of the report of the Padmanabhan Commission, certain interim reliefs are also being given to the Judicial Officers.

We find that the said issue can be better resolved by the Executive and Judiciary on the Administrative side. 5.

In that view of the matter, we are not inclined to entertain the present Public Interest Litigation and the same is rejected.
