The petition concerns which was the first Motion Picture produced in India. According to the news reports upon which the petitioner is relying upon, "Raja Harischandra" was

jdk 2 of 2 10.cpil.234.13.doc the first Motion Picture. According to the petitioner's Research, the first Motion Picture was "Pundalik". 2.

The counsel for the Petitioner submits that the record of the Government needs to be corrected as "Raja Harischandra" was not the first Motion Picture but "Pundalik" was the first Motion Picture.

The counsel for Union of India submits that Public Interest Litigation of this nature, is not at all maintainable. 4.

Without we expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, the petitioner may make a comprehensive representation to the concerned Department of Union of India in this regard.

The Public Interest Petition is disposed of in above terms.
