The writ jurisdiction of this Court is invoked for a direction that the Respondents be directed to provide appropriate police protection to the Petitioner and his family members, so as to enable them to shift back to the residence at 125/14, Kalvert Building, Maulana Azad Road (Duncan Road), Mumbai - 400 008 and to further enable them to live there peacefully.

It is the case of the Petitioner that in view of the son of the Petitioner being an accused in C.R.No.228 of 2016, registered for the offences punishable under Sections 302, 363, 385, 201 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code, there is an opposition from the residents of the building to the Petitioner's family members coming back to the building. 3.

We had deferred the hearing of the above Writ Petition, so as to enable the learned APP Mr.Pethe to obtain instructions. Today, the learned APP on the basis of the written instructions vide letter dated 27th June, 2018 of the Inspector of Police Mr.Sudarshan Honwadajkar of the Sir J.J. Marg Police Station, makes a statement that if the Petitioner approaches the police station for police aid for shifting back to his residence, then, the police would consider the same appropriately. 4.

In view of the said statement appearing in the letter dated 27th June, 2018, it is not necessary to keep the above Writ Petition pending.

By accepting the said statement, the above Writ Petition is disposed of. The letter dated 27th June, 2018, is taken on record and marked as "X" for identification.
