This is an application by convicted accused no.4 for direction to the Passport Authority, Pune, "to issue the applicant passport for the period of 10 years with permission to travel abroad as and when required for the period of 10 years." avk 1/3
Heard both sides.
The learned advocate appearing for the Regional Passport Office has produced the Resolution dated 25th August 1993 which prescribes that the passport can be issued to every such citizen for a period specified in the order of the court, when proceedings in respect of offence alleged to have been committed by such person is pending before the criminal court. It is seen that on the basis of simple direction to the Passport Authority to issue the passport, the passport is being issued for a period of one year. There is no special reason to deviate from this practice. Hence the order :
ORDER
i) The application is partly allowed.
ii) The applicant/accused is permitted to apply to the Passport Authority, Pune, for getting passport.
iii) The applicant/accused to file a fresh application if he wants to travel abroad.

iv) The application filed by the applicant/accused for passport, if any, may be considered, according to law.
v) The application is disposed of accordingly.
