This is an application for suspension of substantive sentence of imprisonment awarded against the applicant/accused. The applicant/accused is convicted of the offence punishable under Section 7 and 13(1)(d) read with Section 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and he has been sentenced to suffer rigorous imprisonment for six months and one year respectively on both counts apart from direction to pay fine. Heard both sides and perused the impugned Judgment and Order of conviction and the resultant sentence. Short sentence of one year has been imposed on the applicant/accused. Gaikwad RD 1/2

(918)APPANo.6102017 He was on bail during pendency of the trial. It is not reported that the applicant/accused has misused his liberty. The substantive sentence of imprisonment imposed on him has already been suspended by the trial Court, therefore, the order. (i) The substantive sentence of imprisonment imposed on the applicant/accused is suspended and he is directed to be released on bail on executing PR Bond of Rs.15,000/- and on furnishing surety in the like amount.
