P.C. :- We have perused the Petition in which it is prayed that the policy of the State Government to give compensation to farmers in drought affected areas be quashed to the extent it puts a condition of eligibility being 50% crop being destroyed on account of lack of rainfall.

Suffice it to state, it is a matter of policy as to which farmer needs to be provided with aid on account of lack of rainfall. A policy which requires loss of crop to be more than 50% on account of deficient rainfall for purposes of the compensation cannot be said to be faulty.
