This is an interim application for extension of temporary bail granted to the applicant vide order dated 19/3/2021 in Interim application No. 1247 of 2020 for a period of 6 weeks.

Heard Ms. Poonam Ankleshwaria, learned Counsel for

the applicant and Smt. Rutuja Ambekar, learned APP for the State. 3.

The applicant was granted temporary bail on the ground of illness of his mother. The applicant' s mother is suffering from terminal illness. Considering the situation, this Court (Coram: Bharati Dangre, J.) vide order dated 19/03/2021 was pleased to grant temporary bail for a period of eight weeks from the date of his actual release on bail in connection with C.R. No. 310 of 2016 registered with Vartak Nagar Police Station. 4.

Learned Counsel for the applicant submitted that the health condition of the applicant'

s mother has still not improved .

The applicant is also facing difficulties in securing treatment for her in the prevailing pandemic situation. She therefore prays for extension of that time.

Learned APP opposed the application. She submitted that there are other family members who can look after the mother of the applicant.

I have considered these submissions. The applicant is already granted temporary bail. Today this application is filed only for extension of that time. Considering the prevailing situation, on humanitarian grounds, temporary bail granted earlier can be extended by another six weeks.

Hence the following order.

ORDER

1.

The application is allowed in terms of prayer clause (a).

2.

Rest of the conditions mentioned in the order dated 19/3/2021 are retained as they are.

3.

On the expiry of further period of six weeks, from today the applicant shall surrender himself to the Central Prison, Nagpur.
