On 13/05/2022, the applicant was admitted to interim protection by recording that the role attributed to the applicant primarily appears to be that of introducing the co-accused to the first informant and he faced no allegation of forgery or preparation of forged documents.

Today, learned A.P.P. fortify the said statement. The applicant was also directed to co-operate with the Investigating AJN

2/2 33 ABA-1205.22.odt Officer by reporting to the Investigating Officer. It was informed by learned A.P.P. that though a telephone call was made to him, he did not report to the police station. The said statement of Investigating Officer is denied by learned counsel for the applicant that he was called on phone for attending the police station.

In any case, the role attributed to the applicant in C.R. No.1242 of 2021 is only introducing the co-accused to the first informant, the order dated 13/05/2022 deserves to be confirmed. This is, however, subject to the stipulation that he shall report to the Investigating Officer from 15/06/2022 to 17/06/2022 between 2.00 p.m. and 5.00 p.m. and, thereafter, as and when directed.

It is made clear that failure on part of the applicant to report to the Investigating Officer, will entitle the prosecution to move for cancellation of the protection granted in his favour. 5.

The application is disposed off.
