The petitioner seeks compensation of Rs.50 lakhs on the ground that the wife of the deceased was a covid warrior and she died during the covid period. The petitioner relies upon the Government Resolution dated 29th May, 2020. The learned counsel submits that the petitioner has made an application to the Dean (respondent no.3). 2.

In case, the petitioner has made an application for grant of compensation of Rs.50 lakhs purportedly under Government Resolution dated 29th May, 2020 and if the said application is still pending, then the respondent no.3 shall process the said application and may take decision upon it. In case, the respondent no.3 is not competent to take decision upon it, then shall forward it to the respondent no.1, the said exercise shall be done preferably within six weeks.

In case, the respondent no.1 is competent to take the decision, then the decision shall be taken on its own merits and in accordance with the policy, preferably within four months. 4.

Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
