The petitioner is a project affected person, who is before us claiming for alternative land as contemplated in the statute since his land was acquired for the purpose of Koyna Project. 2.

The petitioner's land was acquired in 1971. Till now, he is knocking at the doors of the authorities for allotment of land in terms of section 16 of the Maharashtra Project Affected Persons Rehabilitation Act, 1999. In March 2015, the petitioner made a representation as a final attempt and in April 2015 he approached this Court. The respondent authorities have not opened the eyes ABS

WP 2181-2016 even during the pendency of the petition for the last one year through they slept over the matter for years prior to 2015 as indicated in the writ petition itself.

In view of the above, we direct the respondent authorities to treat the writ petition as a representation and dispose of the same within 3 months from today.
