2] The challenge in this application is to the order 16.09.2016, passed by the learned Metropolitan Magistrate, Mazgaon, in C.C. No.1500021/DV/2016 whereby the applicant No.1 was directed to pay maintenance at the rate of Rs.3,000/- per month to respondent No.1, wife of the applicant, and the order dated 11th April, 2017, in Criminal Appeal No.798 of 2017, passed by the learned Additional Sessions Judge enhancing the said amount to Rs.6,000/- per month. 3] Having regard to the quantum of maintenance and the inflationary trend of the economy, the award of maintenance at the rate of 1/2

9 REVN 270 OF 2017 Rs.6,000/- per month cannot be said to be exorbitant or unreasonable. 4] Hence, there is no reason to entertain the instant application in exercise of discretionary jurisdiction.
