P.C.:- 1) The applicants are apprehending arrest in C.R.No. 460 of 2017 registered with Kasturba Marg Police Station, Mumbai for the offences punishable under sections 498(A), 306 r/w. 34 of Indian Penal Code.

2) Applicant No.1 is father-in-law and applicant No.2 is mother-in-law of deceased Mrs. Amruta Vikas Jadhav. It is alleged that the applicants along with their son Vikas Jadhav used to cause constant harassment and cruelty and demanded dowry thereby making her life miserable and thereby abetted her to commit suicide. 1/3

svt 2 (914) ABA-823-18.doc 3) The record indicates that during the course of investigation, the Investigating Agency has arrested Vikas Jadhav on 08.11.2017 and till date he is behind bars. After completion of investigation, police have submitted charge-sheet showing the applicants as absconding accused persons.

4) Perusal of the First Information Report and other statements would indicate that, there are general allegations against the applicants of harassment and demand of dowry. The major allegations are against accused No.1 Vikas Jadhav for causing mental and physical torture and harassment and also of demand of dowry from time to time. It is also alleged against the accused No.1 Vikas Jadhav that he had illicit relations with other lady, which is the major factor prompting the deceased to commit suicide. As noted earlier, the allegations against the applicants are general in nature. 5) In view thereof, the applicants are entitled to be protected by pre-arrest bail.

Hence, the following order.

a) In the event of arrest in CR No. 460 of 2017 dated 06/11/2017 registered with Kasturba Marg Police Station, the applicants shall be released on bail on their furnishing PR bond of Rs.25,000/- each with 2/3

svt 3 (914) ABA-823-18.doc one or two separate solvent local sureties in the like amount. b) The applicants shall not tamper with the evidence and/or pressurize the prosecution witnesses.
