The learned Counsel for the Petitioners states that the Petitioners had made an application for membership to Respondent No.3-Society and there was no response for a period of three months, and by virtue of section 22 (1) of the Maharashtra Co-operative Societies Act, 1960 (the Act of 1960), the Petitioners shall be deemed to have become members of the Society. The learned Counsel submits that in spite of this position, Respondent No.3 -Society is not acknowledging this position and is not taking further steps.

The learned AGP states that in this eventuality, the Petitioners have a remedy under section 22 of the Act of 1960 itself to apply to the Registrar for necessary directions.

The learned Counsel for the Petitioners states that the Petitioners had moved necessary application under section 22 of the the Act of 1960. If the Petitioners approach the concerned Registrar, the concerned Registrar will look into the issue after following the procedure laid down and pass necessary orders. 4.
With these observations, the Writ Petition is disposed of. 5.
