DECEMBER 06, 2021 P.C. :- Learned counsel for respondent Nos.1 and 2 tenders a copy of the letter dated 21st October 2020 addressed by the Consortium for Educational Communication (CEC) to All Media Centres stating that the Commission in its meeting held on 12th July 2018 constituted a Committee to look into the issue of promotion policy in CEC and its Media Centres. The Committee has recommended that the existing promotion policy as approved by the Commission in the year 1997 for CEC and Media Centers may be restored as was done for other IUCs. UGC vide its letter dated 16th May 2019 informed CEC that the Commission had considered the recommendations of the Committee and had approved the same.

The matter was thereafter placed in the 24th meeting of the Finance Committee held on 26th September 2019 wherein it was decided that the said policy will be implemented subject to various conditions mentioned in paragraph 3 of the said communication. A copy of the said communication dated 21st October 2020 from CEC is taken on record and marked 'X' for identification.

Learned counsel for respondent Nos.1 and 2 states that the case of the petitioner would also be considered under the said policy referred in the communication dated 21st October 2020 subject to the conditions prescribed therein. Statement is accepted.

Learned counsel for the petitioners states that in view of the statement made by respondent Nos.1 and 2 and in view of the said communication dated 21st October 2020, petitioners would like to withdraw this petition.

Writ Petition is disposed of as withdrawn in view of what is stated above. No order as to costs.
