By this petition, the petitioner seeks return of Rs.25,000/-, deposited by him, at the time when he was granted emergency parole. 2.

Learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that the said amount had been forfeited by the Government, since the petitioner reported one day late. He submits that the petitioner had given valid Chaitanya Jadhav 1/2

17-Wp-1665-2023.doc reasons for reporting belatedly by one day, and as such the said amount of Rs.25,000/- ought not to have been forfeited by the Government. 3.

We have perused the report. We find that the petitioner had given a valid reason for reporting late by one day. Accordingly the petition is allowed and the Superintendent of Nashik Central Prison to return Rs.25,000/- to the petitioner i.e. the amount deposited by him, when he was released on emergency parole.

For the aforesaid reasons, the petition is allowed and is disposed of.
